The idea that this story is based on is solid and makes for an interesting world. Vampirism is legal and werewolves and all sorts of other supernatural creatures are living amongst us. Anita Blake is an Animator which means she can raise the dead. Apparently she makes a pretty good living at it and helps out the cops as a vampire hunter during her down time. So far this story is building a lot of mystery. It reads like one of those cop shows where we’ve got a crime scene, that is unbelievably gory and a little creepy, a job offer that Anita won’t take on moral issues and a bride’s maid’s dress. They have done a good job of creating curiosity and building a little suspense. The job that she was offered would require a human sacrifice to complete because the corpse is so old, and I want to know what is ...

It’s sharing time here on shazap, and I’m going to tell you a story about when it all began for me and comics. When I got back into comics in my adult life NYX was one of the first series that I started reading and definitely the one that drew me into the people on the pages. It showed me the other side of comics that involves the connection you can make with the characters. I was sad to see it go and absolutely thrilled that here five plus years later I’m getting to revisit my old friends for another exciting adventure. Marjorie Liu did a great job of staying true to the characters Joe Quesada brought to life and beginning to tell a great story with them. All the usual questions have been raised like who is this mystery villain and what does he have against our little family? I’m just really glad this series is back ...

This is the first I’ve read of this title and I got it because it was a really light week and I saw the X-Force on the cover. The quick review is that cable has been on the run through the time stream for two years now with the first mutant child born after the House of M saga. Bishop, the X-man’s one time ally from the future has come back to kill the child. This was pretty good book. If you are interested to get in this is a good issue to do it. It seems to be the beginning of a story and the story is not far enough advanced that you can’t get caught up. Some aspects of the story are a little trite, like the hard hearted tough guy soldier who is softened by the young girl that he is charged to protect and the one time hero who believes he is doing what is necessary for the greater good despite no one ...

OK so now it makes a bit more sense seeing as how the characters are from the future and the Hulk like guy is our Hulk’s son. This I guess makes sense but it sets up that tough situation that I hate where you have heroes trying to save their own people but at our cost. I mean you sympathize with these new heroes and believe me our heroes have done the same thing in the past to other people. I don’t know. Let me know what you think about it. Are these future defenders warranted in what they’re doing or have they crossed the lines to villains. Here’s one thing I don’t get though. So Valeria and Franklin’s nanny is actually the future invisible woman, but these people came back from over 250 years in the future. That would make her almost 300 years old and Hulk is Banner’s son. 250 ...

I have to say right off the bat, did you see what did there, right off the bat that I was absolutely shocked by how this story ended up. First off I have to apt myself on the back here and point out that I was right and that it was Two Face trying to kill her and save her. Great story telling and an awesome choice by the writers. I can't believe that Nightwing failed especially with all of the damage he took. Dude and then Harvey's freak out when he found Nightwing failed. I'm not sure which personality is more vicious. We've all seen what Two Face is capable of, now we're going to see what Harvey can do. There is going to be some serious carnage. Two face has got to be loving this. He gets to sit back and watch the "good" personality reek havoc. I guess when flips the coin it won't be to decide whether his victim lives ...

So this book was just as useless and irrelevant as last week’s Mighty Avengers book but at least this was more interesting. The one thing that I have liked most of all about this series was how deep the story went into marvel continuity so I do appreciate this story but think that it belonged somewhere else. I did enjoy seeing how the skrulls dealt with the House of M but I think Marvel is doing itself and its readers a disservice by making so many Secret Invasion tie ins with out them relating to the story itself. We don’t need all of this. The whole secret invasion story should have been told within the two avengers titles and this stuff should have been made available in outside stories. They’ve drawn it out too long and not had enough payoff outside of the core story. I’m just ready for this story ...

This book is a bit of a regroup issue for the team and doesn’t have the same level of action that we’ve seen in the first 6 but it is still just as good. There is an exciting development with Angel and how it seams that when he is threatened he now reverts back to Arch Angel until he calms down again. First off this kind of gives him a place on this team of living weapons, and it makes him a serious wild card out in the field. The best moment in this book was when Wolverine was yelling at Cyclops and holding him by the shirt and if you look at his hands you can see his claws barely poking out of his hands and little trickles of blood streaming down from them. Serious props to Mike Choi for bringing that kind of detail to his art work and adding depth to a character and a scene. This book has kept its momentum so ...

I don’t know why I keep reading this book. I am constantly disappointed by it every month There is no real team dynamic in this team book and no real at all. Bombshell’s in a tough situation and I feel for her but the Sean McKeever doesn’t give the readers a chance to connect with her. And, he doesn’t give the Titans a chance to be compassionate towards her and try to help. There’s too much punching and not enough story to back it up. They also set up an interesting story with the introduction of the new villain last issue and all we got was a tease and the information that he is Ares’ son. What was the point of this issue why did we need Bombshell especially when it looks like the next issue goes back to Cassie and her family issues. I am a glutton for punishment so I’ll stick with ...

It is getting a little crazy, kind of like Batman himself. One thing that I have enjoyed about this is the continuity between the other books, until we got to the part with Nightwing on the table waiting to be lobotomized. I understand that the Nightwing title has to keep moving but it would have been cool to see how he was captured and a little bit more of that story in his individual title. With that being said the joker is still scary and is great in this title. I still am not sure exactly what is going on with the plot but it is still holding my interest. I'm not sure exactly who the woman was or what was going on with the flower petals but I love that chaos and mystery because it is keeping me interested in the story. This is definately one of those stories though that I will have to go back when it's ...

I've always loved the Ravager character, she's tough, a bad ass, and was a great contrast to the other members of the Teen Titans. In fact she was actually the only thing I liked about the Titan's post crisis. Like I said I thought she was a good part of the team and I was looking forward to her coming around and sticking with the team. I honestly wasn't expecting much from this title but it looks like it will be pretty good. There’s plenty of action and as I said I like Ravager. I really want her to be one of the good guys and it speaks to the quality of the writing that I was actually disappointed and felt bad for her when she started taking the adrenaline and it was obvious that she was giving the Clock King power over her and I want to see her break free from that. The bottom line is they’ve got me interested ...
