The National Foundation for Infectious Diseases brings together leading health experts to urge annual flu vaccine for nearly 85 percent of Americans. Each year, influenza kills more people in the U.S. than all other vaccine-preventable diseases combined. With some vaccine supply already available and ample supply expected throughout the season, the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) and leading public health organizations are urging the public and the health care community to follow the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations -- which call on some 261 million Americans to be vaccinated against influenza each year.
