SF couple Spencer Jones & Tyler Barrick were two of the first through City Hall doors. They didn’t have an appointment but they wanted to get a marriage license & plan to marry later in the year.

For many couples getting married today, Catherine Chevalier's smiling face is what greeted them upon entering City Hall (after passing through the metal detector, that is). She was one of hundreds of volunteers helping to handle the horde of brides and grooms. She took the day off from her job in finance to work the information desk.
Across the street from City Hall the Universal Life Church has a tent where Minister Don Pitts is waiting to perform any marriages that come his way.
