Tuesday, April 7, 2009: Members of the International Olympic Committees Evaluation Commission made their first public comments today in regards to Chicagos 2016 Olympic bid. The chairwoman of the IOCs evaluation commission says members were most impressed by what Chicago could offer the Olympics.According to the Chicago 2016 venue plan, 72 percent of the sports will be located in facilities that are largely completed. The location of the Olympic Village puts 90 percent of the athletes within 15 minutes of their competition venues.
