K.U., through GAI Consultants, is planning on constructing an Ash Landfill and a Sludge Pond on Montgomery Road Hill Road on the west end of Gallatin County. There is a concern about the toxins in coal ash, such as boron, lithium, and arsenic, especially since recent studies have linked the ash landfills to the cause of cancer.
