Twin Italian brothers, Dino and Dario Ferrari not only have awesome names, they are also pretty awesome fisherman. That’s because the brother reeled in this giant catfish that weighs 280 pounds and is nine feet long.
You could hide inside that thing!
The Ferrari brothers battled with the gargantuan fish for over 40 minutes before finally pulling it out of the Po River in northern Italy.
Unfortunately for fish fry lovers and fortunately for the fish, the brothers let him go, back into the water after posing for some sweet photos.
The catfish is one of the largest ever captured on record and Italian media dubbed it “The Monster of The Po.” Although that makes it sound more like a creature that eats poor people, than a giant man sized fish.
Of his hard fought battle of man vs river beast, Dino says;
“To catch them you need a lot of patience but also physical strength. We fought for 40 minutes to reel it in. We tired it out and then lifted it out of the water.”
He says catfish can live to be 50 years old and based on how large this fish is it was probably around 30…. Meaning it could get even bigger. So if you want to truly catch a monster, head to the Po River in Italy in the year 2035; there will be a giant old fish waiting to be captured.
