The World Video Game Hall Of Fame Inducted Its First 6 Titles

Just like music, television, films and even bowling, there is a Hall of Fame for pretty much any form of entertainment you can think of. And finally, video games are getting involved by creating the World Video Game Hall of Fame in Rochester, New York. And like any Hall of Fame, you need some inductions to really get the ball rolling, which the museum has officially selected after some long deliberation. Made from a panel of judges journalists, scholars and whoever else might help with the decision process, six titles were finally picked to be the museum’s first inductees into the Video Game Hall of Fame:

Created by The Strong, also known as The National Museum of Play which also holds the Toy Hall of Fame, an official ceremony was held announcing the admittedly iconic titles. Granted, there’s not a whole lot to see, but hey, it’s their first go! Hopefully by the tenth one we’ll have a Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame size ceremony where Taylor Swift will play the Street Fighter on a grand piano.

Watch the induction cermony if you’d like, but make sure to drink some coffee first before you doze off. This guy is like a robot.

As mentioned, The Strong recognizes games of all times; arcade, console, computer, handheld and mobile. Pretty cool actually. But I swear if Candy Crush gets inducted I’m going to write a letter!
