Heading to a family function can be a hazard to your sanity but after hearing about this woman's backyard barbecue involving a family friend, family functions are also a hazard to your health apparently. In a quiet neighborhood in Muncie, Indiana, a family was having a nice get together, cooking some good ole summertime barbecue in the yard when a confrontation arose. Apparently a family friend named Sabrina Davis had shown up and was allegedly "taking all of the food" as said by the victim. The victim had enough when she saw Davis about to take the last rib and decided to speak up. Words turned into weapons when the victim grabbed a knife as if to threaten Davis to put the rib down. That's when Davis grabbed a fork and stabbed the victim in the eye.
Muncie police state that Davis stabbed the woman in the eye because she feared the other woman would stab her with the knife. Personally it would take a lot of anger to stab someone over food, let alone making sure you aim for their eyeball. Seems to go above and beyond simply protecting yourself, but hey, what do I know. I can also afford to just go buy some ribs on my own so all of my family friends can keep their eyeballs, but that's just me. I'm more of a cheeseburger and broccoli casserole kinda guy.
Family members spoke to the press after the local news got wind of the story, and said it was just embarassing and went too far.
“It was just so ridiculous. … Barbecue’s good and all that, but it’s not worth sticking somebody in the eye with a fork, you know?”
Apparently the victim was released from the hospital after some lacerations and a swollen eye, so it seems all that food she ate earlier slowed down Davis as to not put too much force into the stabbing. No word who actually ended up with the rib unfortunately.
