The Satanic Temple has been hard at work over the past few years attempting to troll the State of Oklahoma in a totally evil way. Oklahoma had installed a Ten Commandments statue on the State Capitol grounds, so the Satanists wanted equal representation there in the name of freedom of religion. They planned to place a satanic Baphomet sculpture right next to the Ten Commandments. Fair is fair in good and evil!

However after the state’s Supreme Court ruled the religious monument unconstitutional, they too can’t place their sculpture at the Capitol. The Lucifer lovers already had a sweet demonic statue ready to go but were SOL. That is until they thought long and hard and came up with the perfect place where Satan would feel right at home; Detroit!

On Saturday the temple unveiled the one ton, eight foot tall bronze statue depicting two children gazing longingly at the Dark Lord to over 700 guests. Originally they had planned a more public ceremony but were forced to move the event to an industrial building and charge admission, after the threat of violence from Christian groups protesting the statue. It seems like Satan has already made his mark on the city! Evil!

Fifty protesters did show up to the event protest and pray and check out the long line of people dressed for their moment to see the Prince of Darkness.
One of the organizers from the The Satanic Temple says they chose the design of the statue because;
“We chose Baphomet because of its contemporary relation to the figure of Satan and find its symbolism to be appropriate if displayed alongside a monument representing another faith.”
Wait, so this isn’t a Slayer concert? Photo Credit: Matt Anderson ?@Mattimeoo
The group may plan to move the statue to the Arkansas State Capitol where the governor just signed a bill to place a Ten Commandments monument outside the State House. Well thankfully they were busy making this monument and not attempting to sacrifice a virgin in an effort to bring about the birth of the Anti-Christ (or however that works, I just assume virgin sacrifice.)
