The Rock has a legion of loving fans thanks to his starring roles in many Hollywood blockbusters and his legendary WWE career. It turns out that he loves his fans just as much.
Yesterday, The Rock spent the day with a group of special-needs children in partnership with the Make-A-Wish foundation. On his Instagram, The Rock shared several pictures and videos of him spending time with a group of kids who were ecstatic to meet him. Although he was busy filming, The Rock made sure that this group of adoring fans were not left disappointed.
“Thank you universe. I was on set this morning ready to start our shooting day when I got word that there was a family with a special needs young man named Ryan who was hoping to meet me,” he wrote on Instagram. “They understood that they travelled in unannounced but they were willing to wait all day until I wrapped to meet. That would’ve [been] 12hrs. Way too long.
“So I asked production to hold and walked across the beach to the barriers where they were waiting. When I walked down the stairs, Ryan’s mom (pictured here) was waiting with a huge hug!”
The Rock continued: “Her tears started to come as she whispered, ‘Thank you, thank you’. I met Ryan, his brother and his nurse. What a great and cool kid.”
The Rock also met several other children, including a wheelchair-bound girl named Ashley Rodriguez who dreams of becoming a veterinarian.
“Took lots of selfies, laughed a ton, gave her a few gifts and then we wrapped up our visit. Ashley, you made my heart full today and I’m such a lucky guy to have been able to spend time with you.”
The kind-hearted superstar says he’s happy to volunteer his time to such a worthy cause. “Always say this, because it’s true.. this is by far the best part of my fame,” he wrote.
