If you're alive and have a sense of humor, you'll recognize Dumb and Dumber as an American comedy classic. Released in 1994, it was the first film for the writing and directing team of Bobby and Peter Farrelly and helped solidify Jim Carrey as the world's premiere comedy star (The Mask and Ace Venture: Pet Detective were also released that year). Jeff Daniels went on to be a force in dramatic acting, just recently winning an Emmy for best actor in a dramatic role for The Newsroom.
And now, the gang has teamed back up for another go around with Dumb and Dumber To. It's great that no other Dumb and Dumber film exists because none other do. None. Don't try to tell me I'm wrong. I'm not. Dumb and Dumberer? What is that? You made that up, didn't you.
Here are the first pics of Harry and Lloyd now:
While this gets me really excited for another film, it's also kind of weird. This film was such a huge part of my youth and now, Harry and Lloyd are old. And that makes me feel old. Older than I already do when I yell at kids to get their damn sports equipment out of my yard (Hello, dummies! I just seeded it. Go play kickball in an alley).
Dumb and Dumber To picks up "20 years after the dimwits set out on their first adventure, they head out in search of one of their long lost children in the hope of gaining a new kidney." Not much else is known other than Sea Bass will be back as will Billy, the young kid who purchased a bird that had its head taped on. Daniels recently said, "there are some things that's we're going to do in Dumb and Dumber To that make the toilet scene [in the original] seem lame. Pales in comparison and I can't divulge what, but just that they've topped it."
We'll just have to enthusiastically wait until next year to see what those things are.
Are you excited about this sequel? If not, how are your robot parts doing? Let us know in the comments!
