Welcome to a brand new week and some brand new news to keep you on top of what’s buzzing today.

Naval Yard Shooting

Still ongoing this Monday morning is the story of an active shooting at the Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters.  According to DC Police, four people have been shot and a suspect is still on the loose in the building. About 3,000 people work at the facility which builds and maintains the naval fleet.

Reports on Twitter are suggesting anywhere from one to “many” fatalities including civilians and police, with many conflicting reports.

Police Shoot Unnarmed Man Looking For Help

Law enforcement continues to convince us all that the entire system needs a drastic overhaul with this story out of North Carolina.  Jonathan Ferrell was in a car accident over the weekend.  The accident was so bad, to get out of his car he had to climb out of the rear window.  He then went to a nearby home looking for help however the homeowner, not recognizing Ferrell, closed the door on him when she saw a stranger at the door and immediately called police saying someone was trying to break in since he wouldn’t stop knocking.

When police arrived on the scene, Ferrell ran towards them.  One officers tried to shoot a stun gun but was unsuccessful so another opened fire with his sidearm, shooting Ferrell dead.  Police later determined Ferrell to be unarmed, not a criminal and probably just shaken up from his crash and in desperate need of help.  The officers have all been put on paid leave while the department admits deadly force was not necessary in this case.  So remember that, police admit deadly force is not necessary if you’ve done literally nothing wrong.  Good to know.

Researchers at the Institute of Hygiene and Applied Immunology at the Medical University of Vienna have gone and ruined holy water for those of us into that sort of thing by actually testing holy water to see what’s in it.  Logic state it’s water, but investigation shows 86% of samples contain E. coli, enterococci and Campylobacter, all forms of fecal bacteria, all that can cause intense intestinal distress and all at levels that make the water unsafe to drink, let alone baptize a baby in or be blessed by, unless the blessing you’re looking for also includes diarrhea.

Miss America is in Fact American

Nina Davuluri is Miss America but don’t let that fool you if you’re an ignorant racist with access to Twitter.  Because she’s brown and has too many vowels in her last name, Twitter exploded after her win with racist tweets about how she’s a Muslim, a terrorist and not American, none of which are true.  Her heritage is Indian, which is neither Muslim nor terrorist, she’s from Syracuse which is in America and she’s a hot woman, so shut up.  it’s a sad state of affairs when people complain about Miss America being the wrong kind of hot.

In the English town of Northampton, there is a clown.  A creepy clown.  No one knows who he is or where he came from and that’s pretty much all you need to know to be creeped out by him if you take that photo into account.
