Teachers Don’t Get Paid Enough To Take This Crap

It’s safe to say your teachers, tasked with teaching the fundamental skills and knowledge you’ll need to make it as an educated adult, are among the biggest influencers you’ll have in life. But they have to put up with a lot of crap.

First, schools are often underfunded so teachers don't have the tools they need. Second, they aren't paid very well. On average, a teacher's salary starts at just over $30,000. They are asked to teach children, hone their skills, and protect them but aren't really paid a salary that matches those tasks. Add on top of that the fact that the union leaders for teachers are all paid well over six figures a year, a number they definitely do not deserve. (You know what country is number one in average pay for a teacher working for 15 years? Luxembourg. I don’t know where that is because I wasn’t paying attention in my overstuffed geography class, but I’m pretty sure it isn’t in America, and that’s a shame).

Finally, they have to put up with a lot of crappy students. Students who don't care, who would rather be on their phone, or do anything other than what they are supposed to do: learn. Here are five teachers who put up with more crap than they deserve.

Answering your cellphone in class is one of the dumber things you can do, yet this guy does it, sitting in the front row no less. We think this teacher’s actions are very justified and we salute her.
