An award winning teacher and “Best of the Best” winner in Dalton, Georgia was busted for sleeping with one of her 18-year-old students. We’re assuming the two are unrelated.
Someone should write a song about this situation.
Police arrested Coahulla Creek High School teacher Elizabeth Scroggs, 32, on a charge of sexual assault. The Whitfield County school district received an anonymous tip that Scroggs was fooling around with a student off of school property. The school district reported the tip to the authorities who began an investigation and confirmed that Scroggs was in a physical relationship with an 18-year-old student. The student may be an adult and the sex may have been consensual but police could still charged her because of her status as a teacher. She faces a felony charge of sexual assault by persons with supervisory or disciplinary authority. She’s also been suspended from her job and we presume she’ll have to give back those awards as well as any apples she may have received during the course of her duties.
All of the guys in class thought so, weird.
Scroggs, a teacher in the Georgia school district, received numerous awards for her work including a “Best of the Best” honor from the Chattanooga Times Free Press as part of their annual People’s Choice Awards. Talk about stuffing the ballot box!
