Anyone who's seen a zombie movie is familiar with the idea of the people rising from the dead. But one one man recently had an all too true experience with this at his wife's funeral.
It seems that a man paid to have his wife killed, supposedly because he feared she was or would be cheating on him. He arranged to have three men kill her.
It turns out the three men not only wouldn’t kill her (one of them knew her brother), but wanted to serve a lesson to anyone else who thought wife killing was a good idea. The husband told everyone that she had been killed in an accident with the body gone.
When she approached him at her own funeral, she said “I felt like somebody who had risen again.”
He said “Is it my eyes? Is it a ghost?” “Surprise! I’m still alive!” she said. He then touched her shoulder and screamed, shouting “I’m sorry for everything.”
The guilty husband at first denied that he had hired the hitmen. “Sometimes Devil can come into someone, to do something, but after they do it they start thinking, ‘Why I did that thing?’”
The judge sentenced him to nine years in prison, saying “Had Ms. Rukundo’s kidnappers completed the job, eight children would have lost their mother. It was premeditated and motivated by unfounded jealousy, anger and a desire to punish Ms. Rukundo.”
She is still plagued by nightmares nearly a year after the incident took place. “I will stand up like a strong woman. My situation, my past life? That is gone. I’m starting a new life now.”
