Star Wars Video Games: A Brief History

There is a new Star Wars installment coming to a theater near you on December 18th, but more importantly, there is a new Star Wars video game out: Star Wars: Battlefront. The awesomeness came out on November 17th from EA DICE.

I had the pleasure of playing this recently and I have to say, it might be the best game ever invented. It truly felt like I was inside a Star Wars movie. And I’m not just being a nerd right now…

So in honor of this amazing game, I thought it’d be cool to look back at all the Star Wars video games we have played and loved for so long.

STAR WARS (1983-1988)

The first one was titled after the film: Star Wars. It was mainly in arcades at first, but then moved onto the Atari and Commodore 64. It was a first person simulator video game.
