You’d think that Sarah Palin would have become self-aware enough at this point to realize that highlighting any instance where she comes off as a fool isn’t the smartest play in the book, yet it seems two perfect storms have collided: Palin, who likes to ramble incoherent thoughts out-loud, and Sacha Baron Cohen, of Borat infamy:
Sacha Baron Cohen Tricks Sarah Palin Into An Interview: She’s Not Happy
Yep, Cohen’s got a new show coming out on Showtime this Sunday and it appears Sarah Palin is just one of his many victims. “Yup – we were duped. Ya’ got me, Sacha. Feel better now?” Palin wrote on her Facebook page. “I join a long list of American public personalities who have fallen victim to the evil, exploitive, sick ‘humor’ of the British ‘comedian’ Sacha Baron Cohen.”
Sacha Baron Cohen Tricks Sarah Palin Into An Interview: Palin Plays It Up For Sympathy
Oh come on now, that’s a little extensive – the only reason to be throwing a fit over your interview is if you said some real dumb shit during it, which, having lived through the 2008 election, is almost guaranteed. But she does make one point solely just to rile up her followers:
“This ‘legit opportunity’ to honor American Vets and contribute to a ‘legit Showtime historical documentary’ was requested of me via a speakers bureau.
For my interview, my daughter and I were asked to travel across the country where Cohen (I presume) had heavily disguised himself as a disabled US Veteran, fake wheelchair and all. Out of respect for what I was led to believe would be a thoughtful discussion with someone who had served in uniform, I sat through a long ‘interview’ full of Hollywoodism’s disrespect and sarcasm – but finally had enough and literally, physically removed my mic and walked out, much to Cohen’s chagrin. The disrespect of our US military and middle-class Americans via Cohen’s foreign commentaries under the guise of interview questions was perverse.”
Come on Palin – it’s 2018. Dudes in wheelchairs? Not funny. Disabled veterans in wheelchairs? Potentially funny, but only if we get written permission from the VA first and Kaepernick has to remain standing through the whole joke. But disabled veterans in wheelchairs making fun of politicians? I don’t care how politically correct you are, that’s hilarious.
And the best part, to me at least, is that Sacha Baron Cohen is British – he’s not a Democrat or Republican. You can’t bitch at him for lampooning one side over the other, because he’s also rumored to have interviewed liberals like Bernie Sanders; dude’s just here to stir up some drama and get everyone’s panties in a bunch. How can you hate it? Sacha Baron Cohen tricks Sarah Palin into an interview by being a real-life troll, he just happens to be better at it than everybody else.
