Ronda Rousey Is Starring In The Remake Of 'Road House'

Ronda Rousey is not only America's latest sweetheart, but also a sweetheart that could kick your face into dust. And Hollywood is calling her phone number non-stop. She's been rumored to be in consideration for a few different roles lately including the upcoming Captain Marvel film, but it's now official she's taking over where Patrick Swayze had left off for a remake of the 1989 classic Road House. And I can't think of a better actor to take on the role.

Sure, you could cast any number of dudes to play the part of Dalton, a no-nonsense bouncer who tries to use politeness before slamming a head into a glass of beer but Rousey might be more perfect for the role than any other leading man. Not to get too deep on the movie Road House, but Swayze's character had a romantic and sensitive appeal about him which I think works for any strong woman in the role. Add the fact that the character is fighting bad guys for practically 2 hours straight, well, no one might be more believeable than Rousey.

Yes, but can she act?! She's actually been acting in films before you even knew who she was. She's had parts in Expendables 3, Furious 7 and Entourage: The Movie. And as awesome as Road House is, it's no Citizen Kane so I think she can handle it.

Also, if you've never sat down to enjoy Road House before, you're really doing yourself a disservice.
