Red Cross Found A Brilliant Way To Get People To Donate By Creating An Arcade

Most people don't donate to charities for many reasons, but one reason primarily being that you're just not getting anything in return. Sure, that's the definition of a donation, but that's also why most people don't want to spend their hard earned cash unless they're getting something out of it for themselves. For most, a little motivation is needed which is why the Red Cross Foundation came up with a brilliant way to get folks to donate their loose change to their cause; an arcade.

Playing arcade games are one of the more popular retro activities, with arcades now being recreated as part of a throwback to one's childhood. And who wouldn't rather spend a few quarters on Galaga then simply dropping them in a bucket.

For right now, the Swedish Red Cross has set up two locations for their Red Cross Arcade. Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Göteborg Landvetter Airport, and the games include Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga and Space Invaders.

The best part of the Swedish Red Cross' efforts is the games take any foreign coins in order to operate. Nice. Check out their promo video below. Maybe America can give this idea a shot. We do love our video games afterall.
