Too Soon: Weird Reactions To The Malaysian Airlines Crash In Ukraine

In case you haven’t seen the news today, another tragic crash has occurred. A Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 flight was shot out of the sky by an anti-aircraft missile while flying over a part of the Ukraine currently fighting with pro-Russian separatists. All 295 people aboard the flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur died in what the Ukrainian government has called an act of terrorism. Now, you are probably wondering why we are discussing this here on Break. That’s where Jason Biggs comes in.

Mr. Biggs, best known for playing a guy who sticks his wiener in a pie, thought that this tragedy was a good excuse to whip out a few hahas on Tiwtter.

What? OK, not the best timing, nor the funniest thing ever, but it could have been worse. I do admire his courage in the face of a bad idea; I always thought someone should do a column called “Too Soon” that makes jokes mocking tragedies after they occur. *I stress that this is a really bad idea.* Besides, if someone were to write a “Too Soon” column, instead of the usual horrible comments the internet makes,  it would be the moment that everyone decides to have a heart and take out an unending, relentless rage defending human decency – you really can’t win.  Jason Biggs though decided to take on that crap storm himself! In response to his angry Twitter followers he writes:

Truly- you losers are literally trying to find shit to get angry about. Channel your issues elsewhere.

He defends the joke:

Hey all you "too soon" assholes- it's a fucking joke. You don't have to think it's funny, or even be on my twitter page at all.

And some followers come to his defense:

What side are you on? Was it "too soon" or should people lighten up? One Howard Stern fan thought he would up the “Too Soon” ante by getting himself on MSNBC during a live report with host Krystal Ball (really, her name is Krystal Ball?). The caller claimed to be a member of the US military and a witness to the crash. He told Ball that there was an unusual event that caused the plane to fall from the sky.

“Well, I was looking out the window and I saw a projectile flying in the sky and it would appear the plane was shot down by a blast of wind from Howard Stern’s ass.”

I sort of feel bad for the host who obviously. What he said obviously didn’t register. I guess if you’re on TV discussing this serious situation, and suddenly someone made a fart joke about Howard Stern’s ass, your brain just wouldn’t be able to compute. She responds without missing a beat:

“So it would appear the plane was shot down, can you tell us anything more from your military training of the sort of missile system that it may have been coming from?”

“Well, you’re a dumbass aren’t you?” the caller replied.

What no, Baba Booey?

Aside from idiots making jokes about the plane crash, someone put together this graphic showing how other major airlines are currently avoiding Ukrainian airspace. These are supposedly live flights on Thursday
