In case you were wanting to re-live the extremely long O.J. Simpson trial from the mid-nineties, you're in luck! A film version featuring a lot of the people that couldn't prove O.J. Simpson guilty for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman will be coming to television next year. We've seen more than enough television specials, documentaries and biographies about the case but never a biographical account in any "film" version of what happened. Until now...depending on your taste that is.
Unfortunately instead of a film by Martin Scorsese or Steven Spielberg, we're getting a made-for-tv version produced by the FX channel and it's already starting to look like an SNL spoof...from the 90's.
Starring John Travolta as Robert Shapiro.
David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian.
American Horror Story's Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark
This person as Kato Kaelin.
This guy as Johnny Cochran.
And Cuba Gooding Jr. as Cuba Gooding Jr (or O.J. Simpson. Probably O.J. Simpson)
Okay, maybe I'm being a little hard on this thing already. FX is a pretty great network as far as their original content, but let's face it, these images are just plain cheesy. They really should've waited and just posted a teaser trailer online so we can see these actors in action. John Travolta looks like he's straight out of community theater with that pose.
The miniseries will last 10 episodes filled with enough guessing and assumptions that will thrill any fan. I just can't wait for the scene where they can't really ante up and flat-out say Simpson murdered those two people. Because really that's what we want this to be about, right? The miniseries will premiere on FX in 2016.
