Professionally speaking, Nicki Minaj is having a great year. Her hit single Anaconda hit number two on the US Billboard Hot 100, and the video has over 150 million views so far. But all that success hasn’t translated into respect, at least as far as her former high school is concerned.
According to a tweet by Minaj, a recent offer to speak to students at her alma mater, Fiorello H. LaGuardia High, was rejected by the principal.
I wanted to go back to my HS and speak to the students but the new principal declined. No need for me to inspire them, I guess. Smh

As the Tweet indicates, the decision caused the pop star to shake her head in disbelief. Of course, Nicki’s penchant for shaking things is probably what got her rejected in the first place.

She truly is an inspiration to us all. But don’t take my word for it. Just take a look at these suportive tweets from her fans.
Because of Nicki’s drive, I applied to two universities. Like I never thought I’d be at that point in my life.

This makes me sad now..?? why would they deny such a successful woman that is an inspiration to millions. Smh??

Nicki is honestly the ONLY person that motivates me to go to school. My parents don’t really push me like that…

Sweet mother of Christ. If the only thing that inspires you to stay in school is Nicki Minaj, just give up anyway, because you’re not smart enough to pass. At this point, you’re simply draining valuable time and resources that could be put toward the other students.
At any rate, good for the principal. If Minaj wants to attain riches and fame by shaking her ass, more power to her. But just because her quasi-pornographic video has a bunch of views on Youtube doesn’t mean she’s a role model.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to write about “The Fappening” again.
