Someone Stole A Semi Truck With 44,000 Pounds Of Beer, Because Florida

It’s a bad day for truck driver’s, but a glorious day for dudes looking to steal an entire semi-truck full of beer. That’s 9,700 four packs, which is 44,000 lbs, to be exact.

In Florida, a truck driver who recently bought his very own semi had the unfortunate realization his truck had been stolen. The driver was staying the night in a motel during the last leg of his Miller High Life delivery from Texas to Florida. The motel told him a truck had been stolen not long before from the same location, but he felt safe enough considering it’s a danger that could happen anywhere you go. Besides, security cameras were up and running in the case anything were to happen. Unfortunately it did.

The driver, Van Thomas, spoke with the Atlanta Journal about what happened. Needless to say, he was pretty heartbroken. Not only because the truck belonged to him, but it was also a part of his business, which he just started.

Luckily, not long after his interview, the detectives working on the case called Thomas to tell him his truck had been found in Miami with most of his cargo. Of course, there’s no word as to whether or not this was just a dumb move by a criminal, or if there’s a larger operation at hand. But needless to say, the truck owner was happy everything worked out for the better.

As for the bandit, no one was able to give a description. I personally just hope Sheriff Buford T. Justice is on the case, considering this all sounds like the plot to Smokey and the Bandit.
