Before you take a bite from your next burger, this story will make you want to inspect that thing twice for any foreign disgusting objects. A man in the UK was at a local eatery called Ed's Diner when he was halfway through his burger, taking a break to drink his soda. That's when he noticed the wiggling. At first he thought it was just a piece of lettuce, but upon a closer inspection, it wasn't lettuce at all.
The man claims that a green caterpillar had crawled out from beneath the toppings and began to make its way around the other parts of the burger. The worst part is the man felt sick later that night, and not because of what he had seen earlier that day.
It's unclear if the man had eaten anything else unwarranted before making the discovery, but luckily he was able to get a couple of pictures of the horror, which have since gone viral. A spokesperson for Ed's Diner released this statement.
‘This was an unfortunate but isolated incident at our diner in Gateshead. All our lettuce leaves are washed and sanitised individually."
The customer was offered a cash voucher and a donation to a charity of his choice, but he opted to take matters a little further by contacting the authorities.
