One man. One cat. One four hour stand-off. This sounds like a Michael Bay-directed movie that should never be made. A man in Stamford, Connecticut called 9-1-1 to report that his cat was attacking him and not letting him back into his house. If you listen to the actual 9-1-1 phone call you can hear the “You gotta be shittin’ me” tone in the operator’s voice when she says, “You said a cat?”
Mohammed Lokman called 9-1-1 at 1:30 in the morning to say that he “had a problem.” And that problem was that he could not get into his home because his 8-pound cat was being “aggressive and so mean.” The cat, who Lokman never had a problem with, attacked him by scratching and biting him when he tried to go inside his house. He quickly left the house with his wife and stayed in his car to call 9-1-1. They couldn’t go back into the house for about four hours.
In the defense of Lokman, this punk-ass cat just had a kitten and according to Katina Wargo from Stamford Animal Control, she said that even the sweetest cat can become aggressive. The fact that the kitty just had a baby probably flipped a switch in the creature to “I’m gonna cut a bitch” protective mode.
After all was said and done, Lokman was able to go back into his house and him, his wife, the cat and the new kitten are getting along fine. This is exactly why I am more of a dog person.
