Minor league baseball teams have a weird tradition of creating some of the unhealthiest foods known to man for their fans. It’s like they are run by competing Bond villains racing each other to see who can give the entire world diabetes. The latest diabolical concession comes from a Kansas City Royals farm team in Wilmington, Delaware thanks to a bizarre partnership with Krispy Kreme. Krispy Kreme made their donut into a hot dog bun replacement.
After this lets ht up KFC for a Double Down.
It’s called “The Krispy Kreme Donut Dog” and they named it that because it’s exactly what it sounds like and a name like “Death on a Bun” would hurt sales. The Wilmington BlueRocks commissioned Krispy Kreme to make a special glazed donut that could be cut in half just like a hot dog bun and filled with a hot dog wiener, raspberry jam and crispy bacon crumbles. If your mouth is watering, please consult a cardiologist immediately.
If you aren’t lucky enough to live near Wilmington, Krispy Kreme is in the process of releasing another tasty concoction that’s a little more sensible than a donut/hot dog or maybe I should say “saner.” Krispy Kreme is releasing a new line of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup themed donuts. They take a glazed donut, cover it with chocolate, nuts and peanut butter chips and stuff it with a hot dose of gooey peanut butter. I’m sure they will also put bacon and jam on top of it if you ask nicely.
