Krispy Kreme is Selling ‘Ghostbusters’ Donuts for the Film’s 30th Anniversary

Where would pop culture be right now if Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd had not made a little movie called Ghostbusters? Well, for one thing, we wouldn’t keep hearing endless speculation about whether or not we’re getting a third movie because Bill Murray can’t make up his mind. We also wouldn’t have phrases like “he slimed me” and “positron collider” as part of our vernacular. And of course, we wouldn’t have the iconic comedy that passes the test of time.

You may not be aware, but this classic sci-fi comedy is 30-years-old. And if you can remember the day when it actually came to theaters, you’re probably getting the urge to stuff your face with some comfort food to ease the pain of aging. The folks at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts have come up with an appropriate way to do it with a new line of “Ghostbusters” themed donuts.

Starting on Sept. 29th, you can walk into any Krispy Kreme location and order one of two “Ghostbusters” themed donuts. The first features the “Ghostbusters” logo sitting on top of a green slime themed splat and surrounded by delicious white icing. The second features the giant, fat face of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man that’s decorated with chocolate frosting and topped with a cap made out of sugar.

They are both pretty cool, but if they really wanted to make an authentic Ghostbusters donut, they would have filled both with green ectoplasm. (Source)
