How Does A Movie Theater "Accidentally" Show Porn To Kids?

As the old saying goes, “to err is human.” We all make mistakes. In fact, if my father is to be believed, I myself was his biggest mistake. And while I freely admit that accidents happen, there are certainly different levels of faux pas.

Some blunders are trivial, like forgetting to take out the trash or not feeding your cat for a week. Then, on the opposite end of the spectrum, we have Regal Cinemas Park Place Stadium 16 in Pinellas Park, Florida, which “accidentally” played a porno to a theater full of children waiting to see Disney’s Frozen.

Talk about having egg on your face. At least I hope that’s egg.

Lynn Greene of Largo was at the Regal Cinemas Park Place Stadium 16 with her grandchildren when it happened. She said there were some technical difficulties that delayed the start of the movie, so the theater temporarily played another cartoon.

"They put in the filler, it looked like 'Steamboat Willie,' the old Mickey Mouse cartoon, and then all of a sudden it goes into this other scene," Greene said.

According to the theater, there were technical difficulties with Frozen, and the projectionist ran another clip to occupy the children during the delay. All dong aside, it was a nice gesture, albeit one that backfired in a spectacular fashion.

The theater has attempted to placate angry parents with free passes to another non-x-rated film, and has given assurances that the mistake won’t happen again. And while the fact that little Timmy saw some hardcore isn’t exactly an ideal situation, kids are going to learn about tribbing sooner or later, so they’ll probably recover and go on to lead normal lives.

However, this entire situation raises many questions.

  • Why does a Regal Cinema have porno lying around in the projection booth?
  • Why did a porno start off with a clip of Steamboat Willie?
  • Why did no one notice the porn playing for two minutes?
  • Why didn't I go to law school when I had the chance?

While we may not ever have an answer to any of these important questions, the fact that there are so many leads me to doubt the “accidental” nature of the incident. As a man who has “accidentally” shown porn to his girlfriend, I’m calling bullshit. (Source)
