This Kid Took His Great-Grandma To The Prom Because He’s A Genius

Smooth move. No, really. Very smart.

Gentlemen, we’re in the presence of genius. With one deft move, a Rockford, Ohio, teen crushed the competition in the campaign to crush ass.

Think about it. When prom rolls around, most guys try to win one girl. This kid is trying to win all the girls!

It began when high school senior Austin Dennison learned that his great-grandmother Delores never attended a school dance because, back in the day, her walk to school was ten miles uphill. At that time, school dances were held on an even taller hill that was guarded by vicious animals, most of which are now extinct.

So with this information, Dennison had his in, and decided to invite Gammy Delores to be his prom date. By pulling such an attention-grabbing and seemingly sweet move, he captured the hearts of every girl at the dance, including the caterers.

To make the night even more special, he began the date by serenading his great-grandmother (see the video below).

Okay, that’s laying it on a little thick. An acoustic rendition of Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls? If you’re going to serenade your great-grandmother, play something sweet and fun or classic and beautiful, not a song with the subtext of “death is around the corner so let’s bang.” Now I’m a little creeped out. This story just got a lot more Ohio.

Even so, it was a great plan, Austin. Congrats.
