America was once again divided last night by a voting system influenced by foreigners. I am of course talking about the 2017 Golden Globes where the Hollywood Foreign Press Association voted to give “The Crown” the award for Best Television Drama, and not “Westworld”- outrage! Where is the media?
Streep on her soap box.
Everyone is focused on the speech made by Meryl Streep as she accepted her Cecil B. Demille Award, which is apparently an award you get for previously getting a lot of awards. In the speech Streep EPICALLY DEYSTROYED President Elect Donald J. Trump with a passionate speech that finally got the message through to him and his supporters.
The face of men who have seen the light.
After a year and a half of campaigning, a presidential election and two months of transition planning, nobody has been able to change the minds of Trump voters, but now it seems that with this plea for decency Meryl Streep changed hearts and minds by reminding everyone that Trump mocked a disabled reporter at a widely reported campaign rally event from 2015.

Oh she got him now.
She said in part: “There was one performance this year that stunned me. It sank its hooks in my heart — not because it was good. There was nothing good about it. But it was effective and it did its job. It made its intended audience laugh and show their teeth. It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter, someone he outranked in privilege, power, and the capacity to fight back. It kind of broke my heart when I saw it. I still can’t get it out of my head because it wasn’t in a movie. It was real life. And this instinct to humiliate, when it’s modeled by someone in the public platform, by someone powerful, it filters down into everybody’s life, because it kind of gives permission for other people to do the same thing. Disrespect invites disrespect. Violence incites violence. And when the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose.”
What everyone is upset about?
It seems that the disabled reporter thing was the Trump quote that really grabbed Streep. In bringing this up at the Hollywood awards show she was able to unite America in a way we hadn’t seen before.
Just kidding, conservatives were quick to condemn Streep as an elitist liberal. The soon to be President melted like an SJW snowflake at an Ann Coulter book signing and took time away from preparing to be Commander and Chief of the greatest military the world has ever known in order to Tweet some slick comebacks at the actress. Shit My President Says:
BURN! Here is a pic of Meryl and Hillary grabbing a few selfies.
So who is telling it like it is? Here is the video of the 45th President of The United States allegedly mocking a disabled man:
Other “liberal Hollywood elites” who in her speech Meryl pointed out are actually from all over the country, were quick to defend her.
Meanwhile the other side of the country reacted in opposing fashion, taking issue with her dis of MMA and football:
However for all those getting outraged about Trump mocking a disabled person, it should be pointed out that in 1995, the film “Forrest Gump” won THREE Golden Globes including Best Actor for Tom Hank’s impersonation of a mentally challenged man. Double standard??
Do you agree with what Meryl said in her Golden Globes speech? Explain why or why not.
