Ungrateful Employee Asks For $400,000 In Extra Pay Because He Was “Burned Out”

It’s tough to stay grateful at a job you probably dislike, let alone one you dislike AND have been working at for years. However, if you’ve ever been unemployed, that sinking feeling of not knowing when your next paycheck will come is just enough of a reminder to be thankful you at least have work. However THIS employee thinks he should be given a pretty hefty bonus because, well, he just got bored with it.

Luckily this isn’t an American worker we’re talking about here. Frédéric Desnard, 44, is a Frenchman who thinks he’s suffering from “burn out” or “bore out” but really it sounds more like he should “get out” if he’s just not into the job anymore. Desnard says his bosses at the perfume company Interparfum caused him to become increasingly bored at work and is now suing his bosses for $400,000 because of it.

The story gets better though. Desnard was so bored, he actually took seven months of sick leave before finally getting fired in 2014. That’s right, Desnard no longer works for the company, but is demanding this extra pay because they “drove him” to take so much sick leave because he was so damn bored at work…which led to his firing. I can already see the HBO miniseries now.

The lawyer for Interparfum says “He never said anything about being bored during the four-year period. And if he actually had nothing to do over these years, why didn’t he mention it?” It must be said that Desnard was never unfairly treated at his job with Interparfum but Desnard says “I went into depression, I was ashamed to be paid to do nothing,”

Man, must suck to be someone who gets paid to do nothing. What an awful thing to do to someone.
