Dream Casting: If ‘BIG’ Were Ever Remade, This Is Who We Would Cast (6 PICS)

Since every classic under the sun is getting remade or rebooted, we like to try to beat Hollywood at their own game by giving some pointers as to who might take over the essential roles in these classic. And with autumn in full swing, let’s take a look at one of our favorite movies set during this season; BIG.

1. Matthew McConaughey as Josh Baskin

Instead of the character wanting to continue playing arcade games and sleeping in twin beds, this version of Big finds Josh wanting to go full adult by playing tribal music in his backyard and smokin’ an herbal peace pipe in his mom’s minivan.

2. Amy Adams as Susan, Josh’s love interest

We never thought Elizabeth Perkins really had the appeal that an older woman should have on a pre-pubescent boy but Amy Adams has those kind yet super hot qualities that would make her a great fit.

3. Jeff Bridges as MacMillan, Josh’s boss

Can’t think of a more fun, yet mature actor to portray the boss of a toy company. Really we just want to have Jeff Bridges be our boss so we can hang out with him everyday. It’d be tough to see him without an awesome head of hair for the first time ever though.

4. Elle Fanning as Billy, Josh’s best friend

Young kids always have friends who are the opposite sex so instead of Billy being portrayed by another boy, why not make it a girl. Especially when Billy and Josh’s relationship gets complicated after Billy sees Josh with an older woman. Young love, folks. It sells tickets.

5. Woody Harrelson as Paul, Josh’s nemesis

McConaughey has had no greater foe than Woody Harrelson in True Detective (sure, they were really buddies but man were they at odds 99% of the time) so Harrelson would make a great office nemesis for Josh. Especially when Harrelson finds out McConaughey has been sleeping with his girl…AGAIN.

6. Sir Ben Kingsley as Zoltar

It’s true, Zoltar was just a machine in the original film, but what if he wasn’t? Meaning, what if Zoltar was designed after a real man that Josh can go to to seek magical advice from? Of course Kingsley would then inform Josh that he has no magical advice and just designed a dumb carnival game, leaving Josh to forever be a 40 year-old-man who loves smokin’ doobs in his Camaro.
