Here’s some good stuff to get your mind off all that bad stuff. BRACE YOURSELF FOR AWESOME!
The End of Grey Hair is Coming!
Researchers at University College London have discovered the gene responsible for grey hair and are confident that it’s possible to create drugs or cosmetics to switch it off. “Preventing grey hair is a possibility and even reversing grey hair might not be impossible. Once we know more about the pigmentation process, and all the genes involved it should be easy to find a protein or enzyme to up-regulate or down-regulate the activity,” explained the lead author of the study, Dr Kaustubh Adhikari, UCL Cell & Developmental Biology. They are also looking into reversing the gene (they go your back, Obama + every man angrily thinking “it’s too late” right now)!

Your Tears Look Like Beautiful Snowflakes Under a Microscope
Dutch scientist and photographer Maurice Mikkers started a project called “Imaginarium of Tears”, in order to find out if tears had a different structure depending on how they were made (ie: environmental causes, emotional causes, etc.) Although there turned out to be no discernible pattern for each category, he discovered a beautiful hidden world of salt crystals that look like snowflakes. “…I think it’s safe to say that the differences in tears that are seen are not showing differences between the origins of crying, but just show a composition of the tear itself and the circumstances it crystallised in…Nevertheless they are beautiful to look at. Every tear is as unique as a snowflake. It’s very personal,” Maurice explained. Indeed, now every time you cry over Amanda you’ll at least get the satisfaction that you’re making art!
