Warner Brothers announced that Ben Affleck, who was, according to reports, “the bomb in Phantoms,” will play Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, in the Man of Steel sequel.
Director Zack Snyder said, “Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him.”

We’re torn. On one hand, Affleck has really become a fantastic director with last year’s Argo, which he won an Academy Award for, and 2010’s The Town. He has turned his career around since the mistake that was dating Jennifer Lopez. But this? He’s already tried being a superhero with Daredevil and that was a miserable mess. But that was 10 years ago. Should we hold that against him?
What do you think of the casting?
