Hollywood is finally bringing fans a proper “Deadpool” movie starring Ryan Reynolds as the smart-ass mercenary who is intentionally funny unlike the one that appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. We’ve been treated to the leaked test footage that pretty much guaranteed we’d finally get the Deadpool that Hollywood never seemed too keen on giving us. Then Ryan Reynolds gave us a tasteful look at Deadpool’s iconic threads on Twitter. Today, we finally get what we’ve been waiting for: What Wade Wilson looks like under that red and black face mask for the new movie.
A photo appeared on Twitter from the “Deadpool” set in Vancouver of Reynolds in the ghoulish makeup that gives him Wade’s deformed complexion.
It’s hard to tell from the photo that appeared on Twitter since it’s not in full, glorious high definition but it appears they aren’t going for the full horror effect that Deadpool usually looks like in the comics when he takes off his mask. Seriously, some of them are so ghoulish and gross that they look like a steaming, hot bowl of steel cut oatmeal with eyes. The movie version looks like a severe case of eczema mixed with a face covering coffee burn. It will probably look better (or worse, we hope) on the big screen.
