Customer Sues Restaurant Known For Throwing Rolls For Getting Injured By A Roll

For Today in Outrage we go to Lambert’s Café of Missouri that is known as the “Home of the Throwed Rolls!”  They have servers push a cart around the joint and literally throw fresh, hot rolls at the customers. Sounds like a delicious sport.

It’s the kind of place that serves country fried steak, biscuits and gravy, chicken pot pies and is where decent hard working folk go for a nice meal and a good time- delightful.  Sounds like some down-home fun and my kind of place. Let’s go!

However one customer apparently didn’t get the memo or see the giant sign posted out front about the “throwed rolls.” That’s because a woman named Troy Tucker claims to have “sustained a lacerated cornea with a vitreous detachment and all head, neck, eyes and vision were severely damaged” when a throwed roll hit her right in the frickin’ eye. Ugh.

Tucker is seeking $25,000 for her medical expenses and legal fees that she says are a result of Lambert’s Café’s carelessness and negligence. Damn, nobody get this lady tickets to a Gallagher concert.

However some fans of the “throwed roll” restaurant point out that Tucker may not be able to win this lawsuit based on previous cases. It is known in legal circles as “the baseball rule” –where if a person voluntarily enters a baseball stadium they are taking on some personal responsibility with the awareness that they may be hit with a flying baseball. Since there are signs posted everyone proclaiming “Home of the Throwed Rolls” one would have to assume that while eating there you may come in contact with a throwed roll.

I am super exited as this story has given me the goahead for my dream restaurant; Phil’s Café; Home of The Chuckin’ Chowder. We throw hot bowls of clam chowder at customers and there is nothing you can do about it.

Break Question Of The Day: Which side are you on? Lady who got a roll in her eye or the restaurant who throws rolls at people?
