Sylvester Stallone Shared The First Image Of Rocky Training Apollo Creed's Son

With Schwarzenegger revisiting his biggest franchise with Terminator Genisys this year, we're going to get a another film from Stallone's biggest franchise. Only in Stallone's case, it's more of a spin-off than a sequel per se. Based on the characters from the Rocky series, Stallone reprises his famous role to help train Apollo Creed's son played by Michael B. Jordan in a movie called Creed. I suppose if you're going to do yet another Rocky film, a storyline about Creed's son is about as cool as you can get. Even though the movie is out later this year, Stallone shared the first official image on his Instagram account. Check it out below.

Yep, that's a Rocky movie alright. You may not recognize Michael B. Jordan as any actor of note right now, but he's definitely a name to look out for. He's also starring in a small arthouse film called Fantastic Four. And no doubt a reason why he was probably the better casting choice to play the offspring of the deceased Apollo Creed, Adonis Johnson. That Creed family loves those unique names.

As we all know, Creed famously died in Rocky IV by the gloves of Ivan Drago which may or may not have been Rocky's fault. Rocky wanted Apollo to throw in the towel mid-fight, distracting Creed for only a moment when Drago's fatal blow occured, killing Creed in the ring. Of course, spoiler, Rocky fights Drago and kicks his ass with a knockout in the final round. But is that the end of the story?

Unfortunately we don't know the entire plot of the next chapter in Rocky's career but we do know, whatever it is, take our money. Creed will hit theaters in November 2015 and is directed by Ryan Coogler and written by Coogler and Aaron Covington.

It should also be noted that this is the first time a Rocky movie (or movie featuring Rocky rather since this is apparently a spin-off) has not been written by Stallone himself.
