The couple that smuggles together, stays together. Karl Jensen and his girlfriend, Lisa Mary Hutchinson were caught smuggling a care package into the Wormwood Scrubs prison in Shepherd’s Bush. Contrary to what you might think, these aren’t places in the wizarding world of Harry Potter, but they are in London. So it’s pretty close.
Jensen was caught on camera outside of the prison tying a wash bag of goodies to a fishing line. The footage shows the bag being pulled into the prison like a fun carnival game.

Once they tracked the bag down, they found a knife, a smart watch, a mobile phone, sim cards, weed, cocaine, a bottle of vodka, a chocolate egg (Kinder, not Cadbury), and the most treasured item of them all: a tasty, yet probably cold, McDonald’s McMuffin. It’s just like a care package mom would send to you while you were in college — minus the weed and cocaine.
Detective Constable Andy Griffin said that the combination of these items in prison “could have been deadly.” Imagine the damage a chocolate knife egg could do.
Jensen, 27, and Hutchinson, 26, were sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on Thursday. He pleaded guilty to seven charges, including conspiracy to supply drugs and sentenced to two-and-a-half years jail. She admitted to allowing her home to be used for the supply of class A and B drugs and was given a 12-month community order.
No word on the condition of the McMuffin, but we hope it’s recovering well.
