Way more people voted for him on Idol.
The primary race between Aiken and Crisco is extremely close with Aiken leading by only 369 votes at the time of Crisco’s death. Votes are still being counted and a Demectratic nominee has not been announced yet. Some might jump to conclusions here and say that Clay Aiken is a suspect. After all, he would have a lot to gain and has been burned in the past by voters not going his way.
I am stunned and deeply saddened by Keith Crisco’s death. He was a gentleman, a good and honorable man and an extraordinary public servant.— Clay Aiken (@ClayForNC) May 12, 2014
With Mr. Crisco's untimely passing we are reminded that even if you serve your community for decades and work really hard, your obituary can still end up being all all about this guy.
I am suspending all campaign activities as we pray for his family and friends.— Clay Aiken (@ClayForNC) May 12, 2014
