Aspiring Rapper Fired From Chili’s After Taking Shirtless Photos In Kitchen

Don’t quit your day job.

That phrase will probably come to mind while listening to Tampa-area rapper Justin J Speekz’s SoundCloud page. But unfortunately for Speekz (or J-Speekz, to those in the know), his day job just quit him.

The rapper was fired from his gig as a cook at a Valrico, FL, Chili’s after he posted shirtless pictures of himself in the restaurant’s kitchen to his publicly accessible Facebook page. As if posting the pics wasn’t brazen enough, Speekz also took the extra step of captioning the pics “Sexy Cooks Of Chili’s” and tagging Chili’s. Thug life, indeed.

A concerned customer who wants his baby-back ribs sans white-rapper dander alerted local media to the pictures, which included a shot of Speekz lying seductively on a food-prep table. The Department of Business and Professional Regulation was then notified, but was unable to cite the restaurant or Speekz with any violations because no food was being prepared at the time the pics were taken. A surprise inspection of the Chili’s also yielded no shirtless dirt-bags near actual food.

But despite the lack of violations, Speekz was let go by the restaurant.

“Chili’s clearly does not encourage this type of behavior in our restaurants,” a spokesman for the chain said. “We maintain very high standards of food quality, safety and cleanliness and took immediate steps to ensure the restaurant continues to follow these requirements. Additionally, we ended this team member’s employment after learning of his conduct.”

In the greater scheme of things, a redneck taking shirtless photos is probably one of the less disgusting things that goes on in your average Florida eatery. After all, it’s not like his Southwestern Eggrolls were showing. And based on the photos, I’m guessing any shirt worn by Speekz would have been less sanitary than just going topless. That said, if you’re dumb enough to post this type of thing on Facebook, chances are you shouldn’t be trusted with issues of food safety.

Luckily, you don’t have to be the sharpest tool in the proverbial shed to try your hand at the rap game. So I’ll leave you with this sweet video of J-Speekz spitting mad rhymes with a paralyzed rapper known as Krazy Eight.
