Tossing Boiling Water to Create Snow Isn’t All Fun and Games

We all saw those cool videos recently of people throwing boiling water into the air to create snow. When the polar vortex was torturing America with temperatures well below zero, many decided to pass the time by replicating the science experiment. Done correctly, this was the outcome:

Unfortunately, not everyone emerged with snow and a smiling face. Many, instead, suffered severe burns. Twitter documented dozens of such failures.

The moral of this story is don’t throw boiling water in the air if you don’t know what you’re doing. And, please, don’t throw boiling water at someone else!
