We've Got Some Good News And Some Bad News About 'Better Call Saul'

Production on Better Call Saul, the spinoff of Breaking Bad, has just begun, but the show is already making news, both good and bad.

We'll start with the bad news. Originally, the show was scheduled to launch in November of this year, but AMC has announced that it will now be pushed back into 2015. That sucks.

But now for the good news. Despite the fact that not a single episode has aired (or even finished filming), the network has already renewed Saul for a second season.

AMC has also announced that Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad, will be directing the first episode. He is co-showrunning the series with Peter Gould, creator of the Saul Goodman character.

"When introducing any series, especially one with the DNA of ‘Breaking Bad,’ there are countless factors to consider in making sure the show gets the launch it deserves," the network said in a press release. "We have a strong history with Vince, Peter, Bob, the studio and so many involved with this production; we are enjoying the process on ‘Saul’ and all share a focus on making it a true television event. No half measures.”

Well, despite that overly-positive PR speak, I'm excited about the show. Are you? If not, here are a few gifs to get you in the mood. S'all good, man.
