We all remember Batkid, the leukemia patient who also goes by Miles Scott on occasion. In November of 2013, Make-A-Wish made his dreams come true by transforming San Francisco into Gotham City and Scott as “Batkid” for a day. But the adventure hardly ended there. Recently a documentary had been made about Batkid which will be making the rounds at festivals everywhere, but the cooler part of the film’s release is the accompanying poster painted by legendary artist Drew Struzan.
Check it out below:
In case you aren’t aware of who Struzan is, he’s the man behind Hollywood’s most iconic movie posters like Back to the Future 1-3, John Carpenter’s The Thing, the Indiana Jones films and Hook which is a personal favorite. What makes it even cooler is Struzan is essentially retired only wielding the brush for the more special limited edition projects. So it’s especially awesome to see Struzan create such a great image for Batkid of all things.
To find out more on the documentary, check out the Behind The Scenes reel released during last year’s Comic-Con. If I was excited about this film before, the poster definitely got my attention.
