An arm wrestling champion nicknamed “Popeye” after the spinach eating, muscle bound cartoon character, has the biggest tree trunk arms and giant hands to match you will ever see. Jeff Dabe from Stacy, Minnesota has forearms that are a staggering 19 inches in circumference. Having these behemoth appendages since birth, Dabe began arm wrestling in the 1980’s where he had the clear advantage.
Who would arm wrestle this guy? His arms are bigger than some entire humans. Yet Dabe competed professionally until 1986 when he popped his right arm. That’s crazy; how big was the guy that made him pop his arm?
After another professional arm wrestler came to town, Dabe was inspired to get back in the sport and began competing again in 2012 using his left arm. Now at the age of 52 he travels the country with his wife, competing in the World Armwrestling League. You could say that he really knows how to manhandle an opponent.
Don't you say it. These are nice folks.
Many people often ask him if he has some sort of condition that gave him the oversized limbs. Curious himself, some years ago he was tested by doctors who say that Jeff does not have any medical conditions such as gigantism that would have caused his arms to grow the way they did; he was just born this way.
He was arm wrestling champ against his teddy bears.
Jeff says he gets some interesting reactions when folks see his big hands;
'I was always good at arm wrestling, but the size of my hands did shock people at first - I had the strength to back it up. People freak out when they see my hands in real life.”
While his nickname is Popeye he seems more like The Hulk To me. Would any of you arm wrestle Jeff? I’m pretty sure he could use his thumb to pin me down.
