11-Year-Old Girl Delivers Her Mom’s Baby, Then Goes to School

A little girl in England just earned herself the title “Best Daughter of the Year on the Face of the Earth”.

  • Caitlin Burke, an 11-year-old from the small town of Dordon, was about to go about her regular day at school when her pregnant mother’s water broke shortly after her partner just left the house for work.
  • After two hours of labor, Caitlin, being the awesome girl she is, single-handedly delivered the baby with the help of the ambulance staff on the phone. Her mom, Tara, gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Elsa-Monet.

After Caitlin delivered her baby sister, she just washed her hands, grabbed her backpack and went to school — as you do in a situation like this. If this were me, I would be utterly useless. I would freak out and run into a corner and cry at the sight of a human about to spring forth from my mother’s loins. Caitlin, on the other hand, was consummate professional.

According to the Daily Star , Tara said that Caitlin was calm while she was screaming in pain.

“I was a bit scared and shaky at first because I had never seen anything like that before in my life,” said Caitlin. “But when my sister was born, I was really happy. I think she’s really cute and I love her very much. My friends at school and the teachers were really happy and proud of me.”

Tara added, “Caitlin was just amazing. I find it difficult to put into words just what she has done for me.”

I certainly hope that her mom, teachers, and friends were proud of her. She is 11 years old and just delivered her sister. She at least deserved the rest of the day off…or a pony.

Caitlin said that she wants to be a midwife when she gets older, which is probably the perfect career for her considering she is practically a professional already. On top of that, imagine how much she can get away with for the rest of her life. She not only can hang this above her mother’s head to get what she wants, but her little sister is forever indebted to her because she gave her life! She is a hero to us all.
